SAFETY BEFORE PARTICIPATION
Every MPSA participant must complete the required safety and consent steps before entering the range or taking part in practical training. These requirements apply to youth and adult participants.
REQUIRED SAFETY BRIEFING
Before range access, each participant completes an approximately 10-minute safety briefing presented by video or PowerPoint. Participants must follow all instructions from MPSA staff, instructors, and range officers throughout the activity.
FORMS AND CONSENT
- A Release of Liability and Waiver must be completed before training.
- A photograph release form must be completed before photographs from training may be used in MPSA advertising or social media.
- For anyone under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and sign the required forms.
YOUTH PARTICIPANTS
MPSA welcomes youth athletes ages 10–18 for IPSC Action Air with strict parent or legal-guardian involvement. Parents and guardians are encouraged to assist with class setup and supervision and to help young athletes remain focused during practical training sessions.
PARTICIPANT CONDUCT
- Handle equipment only as directed during organized training.
- Maintain focus and follow all range commands immediately.
- Practice safe movement, responsible participation, and good sportsmanship.
- Ask an instructor or range officer whenever a safety instruction is unclear.
RANGE AND DISCIPLINE LIMITS
The range is 25 yards deep and is located near neighboring homes. IPSC rifle concepts may be discussed when relevant, but rifle practical sessions are not offered. IPSC Mini and Micro targets may be used with PCC and Mini Rifle to simulate greater distances within the available range.
